Personal

I was born in Brescia, Italy. I got the Electronic Engineering Laurea's degree at the University of Brescia (Italy) in 2002 with a thesis about comparison and merging of audio-visual content descriptions. Since February 2003 I started the Ph. D. program in Information Engineering at Telecommunication group of University of Brescia. From February 2003 to December 2003, during the first year of Ph.D. studies, I did an internship at Philips Research Laboratories Nat.Lab. (Eindhoven, The Netherlands) working on local real-time multimedia content analysis (CASSANDRA project). At the moment, my research interests focus on integration of audio-visual content descriptions and automatic semantic extraction from annotation tools.

Research Interests

• Multimedia representation: Standard MPEG-7.
• Metadata adaptation: Standard MPEG-21 - Integration of audio-visual content descriptions
• Automatic semantic extraction from generic and different descriptions.
